Terms of use
Last updated: 7 November 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Jyosan Labs, Ireland, the publisher of Farepal. By creating an account you accept them. If you don't agree, please don't use Farepal.
What Farepal does
Farepal helps people travelling the same way at the same time find each other and share one licensed taxi. We only connect people. We don't book taxis, set prices, take payments or provide transport, and we aren't a taxi operator.
Who can use it
You must be 18 or older and able to agree to these terms. One account per person. Keep your sign-in to yourself; you are responsible for what happens in your account.
Licensed taxis only
Every shared trip is in a licensed taxi (or hackney). Offering or asking for a seat in a private car for money isn't allowed on Farepal, and can be reported.
Paying for the taxi
Money is settled between the people sharing. We suggest splitting the final meter fare equally unless your group agrees otherwise. Farepal isn't part of that arrangement and can't recover money for anyone.
House rules
- Be honest about your trip, your seats and your bags.
- Reconfirm before the deadline and turn up on time. If your plans change, leave the trip as early as you can.
- Be respectful in chat, on calls and in the taxi. No harassment, hate, threats or sexual content.
- Use other people's contact details only to arrange the trip you share.
- Don't use Farepal to advertise, sell or recruit.
After each trip, people say whether the others showed up, and your profile shows your record.
Reports, pausing and closing accounts
You can report a person, a trip or a message, and block anyone. We review reports by hand. We may remove content, pause an account (for example after two no-shows within 90 days) or close it if someone breaks these terms or puts others at risk. If you think we got it wrong, email us.
In an emergency, call the Gardaí on 112 or 999. Complaints about a taxi or driver go to the National Transport Authority.
Your safety
Meet in public places, check the taxi is licensed, and tell a friend about your trip. You choose who you travel with. We don't check identities or carry out background checks, and we can't control what other users or drivers do.
Your content
You keep ownership of what you post (your profile, trips and messages). You let us store and show it to other users as described in our privacy policy, only to run Farepal. Don't post anything you don't have the right to share.
Changes and availability
Farepal is free. We may change, pause or stop parts of the service, and we'll update these terms when we need to, telling you in the app when a change matters. If you keep using Farepal after a change, the new terms apply.
Our responsibility
We work to keep Farepal running and safe, but it's provided as it is. As far as the law allows, we aren't liable for the acts of other users or drivers, for missed trips or flights, or for indirect losses. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer.
Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time in Profile → Delete account. See Delete your account for what is removed and what is kept.
Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Ireland. If you live in another country, you keep the protection of its mandatory consumer laws.
